In the County Senior Hurling Championship Upperchurch Drombane defeated last years county finalists Kiladangan on a 0-15 to 1-9 scoreline in Dolla last night.
The Church had early scores from James Barry and Paul Ryan which helped them into a 0-9 to 1-2 half time lead with the Kiladangan goal coming through Darragh Egan.
The Church pushed on in the second half and held their nerve in the closing stages running out convincing winners in the end.
