Championship action beckons with their fist clash against Cork in June and Fox believes the competitive feeling in the squad can only help them

This was echoed by Tipperary’s top scorer yesterday. Conor Sweeney who clocked up 2-05 says their panel’s strength and depth has had a major impact.

Meanwhile for manager Liam Kearns says “Championship is their aim and he’s confident Tipp will hold its own come June. He also expects a number of injured and absent players to return over the coming weeks such as Philip Austin and Jimmy Feehan while Jason Lonergan is back in training and Kieran McDonald will be back next Thursday.

However when asked about the possible return of 2016 captain Peter Acheson, Kearns said he didn’t “expect Peter to be back at all unfortunately” adding “he’s a serious serious player and a big loss”
