Mayo and Roscommon face Bank Holiday replay

Mayo and Roscommon will do it all again this day next week after their All-Ireland football quarter-final ended all square.

They finished level at 1-12 to 2-9 in a game that ended in a tense affair after it exploded into life in the opening 10 minutes.

Roscommon led by 2-2 to 0-1 before Mayo went on to score 1-6 without reply.

Stephen Rochford’s side looked to be heading for the win before a huge late free by Donie Smith gave Roscommon a share of the spoils.
The winners of that replay will meet Kerry for a place in the All-Ireland final on August 20th.

That’s after they defeated Galway by 1-18 to 13 points in the day’s opening quarter-final at Croke Park.

Kerry struggled for large parts of the game, but their opponents will unable to punish them as they hit a number of poor wides.
