Drom Inch notch up win over tournament favourites

Drom Inch defeated reigning county champions Thurles Sarsfields in Holycross yesterday evening, forcing a three way tie along with Upperchurch Drombane in their group in the county championship.

This is due to Thurles Sarsfields getting a walkover earlier in the year over Carrick Swans meaning scoring difference couldn’t be used to separate the sides in the group.

Drom, needing a win over Sarsfields to stay in the competition, went in 1-12 to 0-8 ahead at the break with Sarsfields reduced to 14 players after a red card for Aiden McCormack.

Despite losing Liam Ryan to a red card in the second half Drom extended their lead running out 2-22 to 1-18 winners.

After the game Drom Inch manager Seamus Kennedy told Tipp FM Sport it was do or die for his side.
