There’s an element of confidence in the Irish travel industry according to a local travel agent.
Michael Bowe of Bowe Travel in Thurles says the introduction of the EU Traffic Light System and the Covid-19 vaccine breakthrough by Pfizer are positive developments.
Speaking on Tipp Today he said the travel industry is doing its bit to restore confidence as well.
“A lot of companies have introduced a programme of ‘fly with confidence’ so if you book now and there happens to be a Covid problem closer to your time of departure they will allow a voucher refund that will be valid for a period of time.”
“The cruise companies likewise have a ‘cruise with confidence’ programme at the moment along with some good value. So if you happen to book now and again if there’s a Covid issue or you’ve lost confidence in the programme they’ll offer you a voucher that you can use at a later date.”
“These are the kind of things that people need to hear.”
