Nearly one-third of patients without a bed across the country today are at University Hospital Limerick.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 178 people being cared for on trolleys today – 150 of these are waiting in the emergency department while 28 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
UHL – which caters for patients from North Tipp, Clare and Limerick – has 58 people without a bed today making it the most overcrowded in the country.
