Plans for “Barack Obama Plaza” to be lodged shortly

A multi-million Euro planning application is to be lodged with North Tipperary County Council within the next fortnight.

Supermac's founder Pat McDonagh is reportedly ready to apply for permission for a €7 million development at Junction 23 of the M7 near Moneygall.

The “Barack Obama Plaza” would create 75 jobs in the construction phase with 50 permanent jobs when complete.

Following lengthy pre-planning consultations with North Tipp County Council, its hoped construction can start in the autumn with a likely opening date of St Patrick's Day 2013.

The project would include a service station, a food court, a Supermac's, a pizza outlet and a convenience store on the 12 acre site.
