The number of people waiting for beds in hospitals around the country is staggeringly high today at 345.
This represents a jump of 18% from yesterday’s figure of 284.
Unusually, CUH had the most people on trolleys with 48, while University Hospital Limerick, which takes in North Tipp, Limerick and Clare, had 36.

There were another nine patients without beds in the Clonmel hospital.
