There’s good news for Scoil Ruain Vocational School.
Bus Eireann had announced it would not be running three school bus routes serving the school in Killenaule from September.
It’s due to a rule that says there must be ten students eligible for the free service on the route, even if others were willing to pay.

This would mean up to 60 students would no longer be able to attend Scoil Ruain which would be a threat to teachers’ jobs.
Independent TD Michael Lowry says the danger has been averted for the coming year while a review of the rule is carried out.
