The Ballina/Killaloe region, on the border of Tipperary and Clare, has been included in Ireland’s newest tourism brand.
It will encompass the midlands – including the North Tipperary town – and will be marketed in a similar way to the Wild Atlantic Way or Ireland’s Ancient East.
It’s thought being part of the ‘Lakelands’ brand will bring additional revenue into the area – and had been raised by local TD Jackie Cahill last year in the Dáil.
