The average waiting time from registration at South Tipp General Hospital's emergency depart to admission is just over 3½ hours.
That's according to figures from the Health Information and Quality Authority which carried out a survey of 33 hospitals on august 24th last year.
At an average of 3 hours 32 minutes the Clonmel hospital compares well with many other facilities across the country.

The average at Cavan General Hospital was 20 hours 23 minutes.
The longest time between registration and admission at South Tipp General was 10 hours 5 minutes – this compared with 137 hours 48 minutes, or nearly 6 days, at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
