There’s dissent within Fine Gael ranks in North Tipperary at the lack of a candidate from the area for the General Election.
The party is currently running two candidates – Garret Ahearn and Mary Newman Julian – both of whom are based in the south of the county.
A call to have former TD Noel Coonan added to the ticket has so far not borne fruit.

This has led to Rory Kennedy to step down from his position within the party as a local area representative in Nenagh.
He says the party is risking losing a huge number of votes.
