Plans are at an advanced stage for a major upgrade at Semple Stadium.
The blueprint would see the Kinane Stand redeveloped into a multi purpose facility, in place of the proposed plans at Dr Morris Park which would have also seen a new all weather pitch.
However, the County Board are now working in conjunction with LIT Thurles to secure funding for their all-weather pitch – which has been given the green light by the local authority.
Within the Semple Stadium development, a second tier would be built above the Kinane Stand – and it’s hoped planning permission will be secured by the end of this year.
Tim Floyd Secretary of Tipperary County Board explains what they hope to do.
