Council and locals at loggerheads over Ardfinnan Bridge

The clock is ticking for Tipperary County Council to use the 800,000 euro allocated for works at Ardfinnan Bridge.

A one way system with Temporary traffic lights has been in operation in the South Tipp village for 2 years now, however Transport Minister Shane Ross has confirmed funds are available for upgrades, but only for a short amount of time.

A delegation from Tipperary travelled to Dublin to meet with the Transport Minister yesterday for the fourth time about the issue – as it’s feared if the money isn’t used soon, it will no longer be available.

Tipperary County Council has been criticized for not having public consultation on the project, and for not sending a representative to the meeting with Minister Ross yesterday.
