New research to target breast cancer

Irish researchers are launching new research they hope will help to treat aggressive forms of breast cancer.

The team at NUI Galway is looking at genetic factors that drive the disease.

They’re concentrating on the “HERV K” gene that’s known to affect the spread of certain breast cancers.
